Black Friday remains a benchmark for the evolution of the e-commerce market in Romania, an event for which Romanian merchants have prepared a wide range of significant discounts, which are available only at this time of year.

The buying behavior of Romanians on Black Friday
The change in the buying behavior of Romanians, through massive migration to online, has been indisputably driven by the pandemic, but maintaining the upward trend of online transactions is due to increased consumer confidence in online payments, as a consequence of joint efforts of payment operators and merchants, which have managed to retain online shoppers through innovative products and streamlined processes.
PayU estimates show that the value of the shopping cart paid in installments will be 60% higher than the value of average shopping cart, while one-click payments will represent approximately 65% of the transactions paid online for the first day of Black Friday, the increase being 35% compared to the previous edition.
Merchants in the PayU portfolio that will participate in this year’s edition of Black Friday include Altex, Elefant, eMAG, FashionDays, Flanco, F64, iStyle, Jysk, PC Garage, Vivre and others.
