Romanians trust more and more in online payments

Black Friday is both the most important online shopping event in Romania and a moment that highlights the trends and preferences of Romanians for online shopping and payments.

The total value of online transactions made through the PayU platform reached RON 357 million, while their number reached the threshold of 658,000 transactions, increasing by 22% compared to last year.

 

According to PayU Romania estimates, the volume of transactions paid by customers in online, at merchants that had Black Friday discounts, is over 10 times higher than on an ordinary day, which confirms that the event remains an opportunity that Romanians take advantage of to buy both the goods they want and the ones they usually need, at special prices.

 

The number of online shops has increased in the last two years, pushed by the pandemic context, having more and very different offers, which has led to increased competitiveness and, by default, to a higher quality of products and services offered by merchants. At the same time, the efforts to optimize the online shopping process on behalf players involved in the e-commerce market have encouraged consumers to have even greater confidence in online shopping and payments.
